My Goals for the Month of June

Jeni at JustGrowAlready.com and a few other bloggers have inspired me to start setting monthly goals for myself.  It's definitely a good idea to make a list of mini goals or steps toward achieving your long term goal.  It's probably a lot better than just going with the flow like I've been doing.  I need to start making myself accountable. So here goes:

My June Goals

1.  Continue heat free styling for the month of June.
On this note I am proud to say that I have not used any form of heat styling on my hair since April 28 (direct or indirect).  I've been in Air Dried City and think I'm getting better at it the more I practice.

2.  DC with steamer once a week.
Just pulled my steamer back out recently and remembered how much softer my hair feels when I use it.  Time to put this steamer back to work.

3. No hair purchases for the month (unless I'm replacing a staple).
I'm on a mission to get my stash down to the basics.

That's not even all of it :-(
Although a good bit of it was given to me & I happily accepted. lol
4.  Workout at least 3 times a week this month.
I've gradually started inching my way back into the gym, but not as often as I should. Hoping I can keep it up.

There are some other things I'd like to work on, but these will be my focus for this month.  I'm definitely going to try to stay on top of these goals this month.  Hopefully I can report back that I achieved them all.  The one I'm most worried about achieving is my working out goal since I work full time and am taking a summer class right now. This is going to be the hardest, but I'm going to try for sure.

What are your goals for the month?

Thanks for reading,

   Andrea

  1. We basically have the same goals lol I have the same steamer, I really love it but it's so much quicker and easier to throw on my heat cap lol

I started the post for my June goals but had a family emergency. Like you, Jeni and the other bloggers inspired me to do it. I have more than two hair goals this month so making it public will keep me accountable.

    1. oh yes, that heat cap is so convenient. I always just grab it because I never feel like getting the steamer out and putting it together and setting it up (just lazy) lol! I sure do miss how soft it makes my hair feel though.

Can't wait to read your June goals. :)

  5. Great goals and mine are so similar!
    1. I am continuing on my no heat goal to make it until September.
    2. I am trying to use up my stash before buying anything new (unless it is to replace a staple, like you said).
    3. Keeping my protein/moisture balance in check to minimize any further breakage.
    4. Do more BTRs to minimize shedding

    1. Great goals! I need to add protein/moisture balance to mine and I want to start trying coffee rinses. I may add these on top of my goals for next month. Good luck!

    1. Thanks for the encouragement! And yes, you def should get a steamer when you get a chance. Until then you could give the DIY Steam Method a try.

    1. Thanks, Bebe! That is so true. Trying to make time for work, school, gym, and hair among other things! It's definitely hard trying to fit everything in.

  10. You're my namesake! Great goals and good luck with them! I have very similar goals I'm just ready to commit to saying no heat for entire month though I have cut it down dramatically. What's your opinion on blow drying on cool?

    1. Hi Andrea! Awesome name! ;)
I think blow drying on cool is okay, but for me it takes way too long just on cool so I haven't attempted it in a while.
Thanks for following. On my way to check out your blog now! :)
