Transitioner's Corner | What Have I Been Doing with My Hair Lately?

Hello there! I have been MIA yet again. I get so mad at myself when I've been away to long. I enjoy blogging, but sometimes "I just don't feel like it" *in my whiny voice*. When I get home from a long day of work and whatever else I've had to do, I just want to relax.  Getting on my laptop after sitting at a computer all day is the last thing I feel like doing when I get home, even for enjoyment. But I do like when I keep up with what's going on with me and my hair because I like to have that record that I can go back an revisit later on.

I'm usually pretty boring with my hair but I have been trying a few things here and there to switch things up a bit. I rarely stray from my everyday bun, but every now and again I get an itch to try something different.  I was going through some old photos (that I had intended to post) and thought I'd share them here.
I will occassionally post something on Instagram every now and again, so if you follow me you may have already seen some of these styles.  By the way don't forget to follow me on Instagram if you don't already....just click HERE! :)

Perm Rod Set

When I tell you I was super proud of this set. I'm getting pretty good at my perm rod sets. Now I just need to speed up. If I could get them done quicker, I'd do a perm rod set every wash day!

Curly Bang and Puff

I tried this style on a rod set that was on it's last legs. Trying to make it to wash day. I thought it was pretty cute.

High Bun

This is how I usually where my hair when I don't feel like doing anything to it. I need to switch the position of my bun, but I just love a nice top bun!

Ironed Straight

I straightened my hair again back in December. I couldn't help it. My hair looks so much thicker which I'm pretty stoked about.  I didn't do an official length check since the one I did in October. I'm trying not to worry about it so much and I wanting to d a bit of a cut (not quite the big chop) in the next few months. I'm almost ready to get rid of the bones straight ends, but may hang on to the texlaxed hair for a little longer.

Twisted Updo

I am rarely one to try something off the top of my head. Well let me rephrase that. I try something, realize I hate it, then take it down and put it in a bun. LOL! I am not the most creative when it comes to styling, but I though this look was kind of cute.

Twist Out on Blow Dried Hair

I really liked how this style turned out. I got fairly decent definition using the Carol's Daughter Styling Creme.  I did not wet my hair. I think I did about 8 or 9 twists from from front to back. Oh and I played with a little lipstick. I have no makeup skills y'all.

So this is what I've been doing with my transitioning hair lately. Trying not to be so boring with my hair now that I've finally gained some thickness and length as compared to the start of my journey.  Although, I do still have more boring hair days that not. Lol. I am about 98 weeks post currently and still haven't decided on doing the big chop. I say why jump if I can continue to maintain as I have.

Is anyone else over in Transitioner's Corner with me?
How long did you transition before the big chop?

Thanks so much for reading!

  8. Hiya!! Fabby styles. Very versatile.

I'm in the transitioner corner with you but will be out in a few days. I didn't big chop, just trimmed my ends over time. I think I'm like 96% natural but have the odd relaxed end here or there. I am due another trim which I'm doing in the next few days, after which I'll be fully natural.
